By Neil Shusterman, author of Scythe, Dry is a powerful book about the California Drought in its most drastic moment, still yet to happen. The book is written in a stunning and powerful present-tense.

By Holly Sloan, Counting by 7s is an emotional book about how Willow deals with a devastating loss, and made cry what felt like a billion times. Highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone!

King of Scars

By Leigh Bardugo, King of Scars follows the characters from her Grishaverse series. Nikolai, the beloved king with a demon, Zoya, the Squaller with a hard past, and Nina, the broken Grisha with a broken heart. In this book, Nikolai and Zoya are off to banish his demon, and Nina's on a special mission to recruit Grisha and find peace with her devastating loss.

By Maureen Johnson, Truly Devious is about Stevie Bell, a true-crime aficionado, who is accepted to the famous Ellingham Academy. Ellingham is the home of one of the most famous cold cases. By Iain Lawrence, the book follows the survival of Chris, a young boy who is stranded with another boy, Frank, on an island, seeming to have no hope of survival, and no one to keep them company except for a aggressive bear and a compassionate raven.

By Alan Gratz, author of Prisoner B-3087 (see above), is about an Irish boy who deeply disagrees with the Nazi party, but is forced to become one anyway. It's about his actions that could potentially save the Allies chance at winning the war.

By P. G. Bell, the book follows a girl's journey through the Impossible Places, and her struggle to avoid capture after saving a snow globe, claiming to be a prince and essential to saving the world she had just begun to experience.
